The Places I Have Been

During this troubled year 2020. With all of the problems that have been created by the Covid 19 pandemic. It has been very helpful. Remembering all of my travels. That I have enjoyed! Traveling around this interesting and beautiful Planet Earth. That we all get to call our home. On this blog post I was going to recount and reminisce about all of the wonderful adventures I have enjoyed. What inspired the trips and itineraries and created all of the wonderful memories. That have been so enjoyed during the journey through life. Here is the list of all of the countries I have enjoyed to visit during my travels. 1. Israel 1988 2. Egypt 1988 3. Malta 2006 4. Italy 2015 5. Netherlands 1988 6. Switzerland 1986 7. Belgium 1991 8. Luxembourg 1991 9. Germany 1986 10. Austria 1986 11. France 2000 12. England 1998 13. Island of Guernsey 2000 14. Vatican City 2015 15. China 2018 16. USA 1984 (First Trip) Florida 17. Mexico 2005 18. St Vincent & The Grenadines 2001 19. Barbados 2012 20. Cuba 2016 21. St. Maarten 2014 22. St. Barts 2014 23. Saba 2014 24. Lichtenstein 1986 25. Iceland 1991 26. Bermuda 1987 I thought it would be a great idea to relieve a lot of my favorite experiences during my travels. Weather it would be a favorite city, a favorite meal, a favorite place of natural beauty. A favorite famous place of history. In 1984 I went on my first solo vacation. The destination would be the sunshine state of Florida. Being a big fan of singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett gave me the inspiration to visit the most southern part of the Continental USA. Which is the beautiful island city of Key West. Located only 90 miles from the island nation of Cuba. The day trip to Key West on the 1984 trip. Remained one of the highlights of the 1984 Florida trip. Also this trip. Inspired me to go back and visit the Flrodia Keys in 2013. In which 3 days of the trip were enjoyed in Key West, and I also got to enjoy the day trip to visit Fort Jeferrson lcoated on the island of Garden Key. In the year 1986, I enjoyed a dream come true. On July 15th of 1986. I boarded a Swiss Air flight at Perason International Airport, and flew from Toronto to Zurich, Switzerland. For the chance to tour Switzerland and enjoy the trip of a lifetime! Lots of magical memories were created during that trip. I will recount some special meories from that holdiay on this post. This was a backpaking trip. I stayed at travel hostels for the first time. I was excited to be visiting Europe. I had the chance to tour Switzerland. I was also able to squeeze in side trips to visit Munich, West Germany, and Saltzberg, Austria. It was an incredible so say the least. The beauty and peace of getting the chance to visit Switerland will be with me always.

In the winter of 1988, I enjoyed going on vacation for 5 weeks. One week was my first week visiting great friend Peter V/D Weyden and his home country The Netherlands. They I traveled from Amsterdam to visit great friends Tamara and Ofer L. Which gave me the oportunity to expereince, explore and enjoy The Holy Land, the State of Israel. I would get to get to enjoy my first visit to the city of Amsterdam during this trip, and enjoy visiting the Netherlands. A very nice expereience indeed. No problem again visiting a European country and being only able to speak English. The Dutch people are very friendly and most can speak English as there second language. I enjoyed my exereince visiting Israel. Which would not of been possible. Without the help of Tamara and Ofer. I was there guest at there Kibbutz for 2 weeks. Then I got to do my own self tour of Israel for 2 weeks. Which included visiting to Jerusalem for 2 weeks, the Dead Sea, Elat, 2 days on the Sinai, Masada, Caesarea, Tel Aviv! It was a very compelling trip. Getting the chance to visit some incredible places of important history. Also the history of how the State of Israel fought agaisnt all odds to become a proud and independent country!
