Charles Town Races 1933

Hello! Very happy to be still posting to my travel blog! My brother and I travelled to vist Charles Town West Virginia. Our first time to visit this part of the USA. We were both very impressed!The beauty and quailty of life in this area of the United Staes is first rate! Also lots of history is located in the West Virigina, Maryland, Virginia area. Lots of Civil War battles were founght in this area of the USA. Also we had the pleasure of visiting Harpers Ferry National Park! Lots of impressive natuaral beauty and lots of history in this very unique place. It is the kind of place. When you arrive there. It is very hard to leave. Because the natural beauty is so heathy for your mind and soul! I will be doing a blog post soon on Harpers Ferry National Park. We enjoyed our visit to Charles Town Races. This historic old racetrack. Began hosting Thorughbred racing in 1933. It is a 3/4 mile racetrack. Very similar to the Greenwood Racetrack that use to exit in Toronto. Greenwood was closed and torn down in 1993. Charles Town Races also features a huge casino. Which wwould make any fan of casino gambling very happy. This huge entertainment complex is loated in a small city with only the popultation of 6,600 people!

Glen Park - Beauty In The City!

Located in the city of Buffalo NY. A little piece of getting away from it all can be found in a busy and comercial city environment. Glen Park features a beautiful waterfall. Elliot Creek is the souce of the magnificent waterfall. The stone bridge that crosses Elliot Creek at Main St., was completed in 1982. Glen Park a perfect place to relax and renew one's spirit! Enjoy a visit to Glen Park. Next time you Shuffle Off To visit the city of Buffalo!

The Buffalo Zoo est. 1875

Today was my first visit to the Buffalo Zoo, established in 1875 is the 7th oldest Zoo located in the USA. It was a perfect day for a visit. The weather was very good and the Zoo was not crowded. I have included my best photos of the visit today. Enjoy the photos. The Buffalo Zoo is located at 300 Parkside Ave, in Buffalo New York.

A Good Day At The Racetrack

Yesterday was a very good day. That involved a daytrip to Finger Lakes Racetrack, located in Farmington New York. Close to the shores of Lake Canandaigua . This racetrack began hosting Thoroughbred racing in May 1962. Evethough the Finger Lakes Racetrack hosts a casino now, The charm, beauty and confort level for the racing fans are still alive and well. At this great place to watch the horses and jockys competete. I have included some of my best photos from our very fun day enjoying the racing at Finger Lakes Racetrack yesterday. A Good Day At The Racetrack, Beats A Good Day Anywhere Else!!!
