Waterfalls found on The Niagara Escarpment
Today I enjoyed a fun day trip on the Niagara Escarpment. In search of the perfect Waterfall. Yes I know all about the famous and amazing Waterfalls that can be found on the Niagara River. But almost unknown to tourists and locals alike. That many more idealistic and beautiful Water Falls are to be found along the Niagara Escarpment. Also you don't have to deal with the huge crowds and the high costs of visiting Niagara Falls.
For those that do not know. The Niagara Escarpment runs for 800 KM or 500 Miles (in Ontario) from Niagara Falls all the way north to the town of Tobermory.
In February 1990, the Niagara Escarpment was designated a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It is a perfect place to get away from it all. And today was a perfect day to do it. There was not a cloud in the sky, with the temperatures were around 17 Celsius.
My ambition to start looking for waterfalls located on the Niagara Escapement began when I purchased a great guide book, written by Jerry Lawton, with the pictures taken by Mikal Lawton. It was a very good day. Now it is time to take a look, at what I looked at today! Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteWOuld prolly be much nicer in the summer DW!
The weather was great on Saturday. It was awesome to be out on the Escarpment. I also found a great winery by Balls Falls. It is called Calamus Estate Winery.
ReplyDeletePlus Al. The Spring is the best time to visit most of these Falls. While the water volume is at it's max from rain and winter melting.
ReplyDeleteLooks nice. I know a good hike to Webster Falls.
