Harpers Ferry National Park, West Virginia
A very happy part of our holiday visiting the USA State of West Virginia. Was our vists to Harpers Ferry National Park. It is a place of extream beauty and preserved history. The Shenandoah River ends it's journey and flows into the Patomac River, within the National Park. My brother and I very much enjoyed our 2 visits during our vacation. Harpers Ferry National Park, is the kind of place. That after you arrive. You are in no hurry to leave.
Here is some of the important history preserved in Harpers Ferry National Park. The town is named after Robert Harper. Harpers Ferry became a very important transporation hub and important place of manufactroing. Abolitionist John Brown, who atempted to end slavory pre Amercian Civil War. Led a raid on the Amrmoy located in the town of Harpers Ferry. The raid failed and John Brown was captured and stood trial in Charles Town and when found guilty of insurection, was later executed.
I have included my photos of our visit to Harpers Ferry National Park.
