The Crown Point Bridge & Lake Champlain

An enjoyable part of my day yesterday was a wonderful scenic drive. Yes there are many of these that can be enjoyed during a Vermont vacation. I was the architect for this one. I will name it "The Champlain Valley Loop" The route consists of going north on route 7 until you reach route 17. Then west on 17 until you reach the "Crown Point Bridge". Which crosses Lake Champlain into New York State.
After spending some relaxing quality time at the Bridge on the New York side. Which included a short hike to enjoy seeing the old lighthouse. Which now stands as a monument to honour the memory of Samuel D. Champlain. As this great European Explorer was the first to discover Lake Champlain and Vermont in 1609.  The old Crown Point bridge was replaced and reopened in November 7th, 2011. I have included some pictures of the bridge and the Samuel D. Champlain monument.
