Enjoying The Keys!

Today was a day to just hide away in the Florida Keys. The drive down into the keys on US. Highway 1 is not an easy one. Most of this road is only two lanes. The maximum speed limit is 55 MPH. There is a "Key Deer" sanitary located on "Big Pine Key". There speed limit in daylight is 45 MPH and drops to 35 MPH at night. You have to converse 47 bridges to arrive in Key West. Combine all this with; detracted, impatient, impaired and bad drivers. Makes the drive on this road very tricky.
But saying all that I hid away from the rest of the rat race. For a long while on Long Key in there state park. Also on "Ann's Beach" located on Lower Matecumbe Key. It is very beneficial to just go and hide away!!!!

  1. I found the drive in the Keys to be very enjoyable and that was during spring break!

  2. My rented car has no cruise control. There are cops everywhere looking for speeding violations. On Sunday night on the way back from Key West. Alan Hughes and I. While we were passing though Islamorada. Witnessed a SUV drive after a pickup truck, and with intention drove into that truck. Then drove off. Obviously the two drivers had had some type of altercation. It was also obvious that both drivers were impaired!

  3. Lucky for us. We we just witnessed what happened, and did become victims! Statically U.S. 1 between Key Largo and Key West is one of the most dangerous stretches of highway in the U.S. It is a big disappointment. That a beautiful area like this. Has to be this way!

  4. I know the north end of the Keys (Key Largo for example) has many bikers that frequent the area.
