Travel Wolfe Going Crazy on Caroline Street!

The Travel Wolfe made it back to Key West today. Many years have passed since 1984, and my excursion to visit the Florida Keys. So today was a day to celebrate! Time has changed a lot of things over the years. Too much development and the arrival of cruise ships coming into Key West has turned Key West into a tacky and over commercialized mess. Greed what are we going to do with you?

Giving everyone that negative thought of Key West. The spirit, history and uniqueness of the island has remained unchanged. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the best of what south Florida has to offer. The drive went well on the drive down to Key West. I had the advantage of a new travel friend Alan Hughes. Providing interesting conversation on the trip down. Also Alan took plenty of pictures on the trip down to Key West. Also on the return trip back to Florida City.

On our arrival to Key West we did a walk about the town. Watched a big cruise ship dock. Organized my excursion to visit Fort Jefferson on Thursday. Enjoyed a great fresh crab cake lunch at a local eatery, went for a nice swim at Fort Zachery Taylor State Park. Then did a walking tour of the old Fort. Then a drive back to Florida City, on the Overseas Highway.

The title of this post represents my many years enjoying Jimmy Buffett tunes. Combined with the joy of being back in Key West. Enjoy the pictures and more to follow. Stay tuned.
