Yesterday was a day of travel for the Travel Wolfe. It does seem. That when I travel. It does give me the most pleasure that can be enjoyed in life!
Yesterday I traveled with my brother John. We set out early in the morning. Heading in a northern direction. With the town of "Owen Sound" as our destination. The drive went well. Despite dodging some reckless and irresponsible drivers. There are way too many of these road warriors. On our roads these days!
When We arrived. We drove out to get a birds eye view of "Owen Sound" on what turned out to be a lovely summer day. On unofficially the last day of Summer. Which is "Labour Day". I did get some good photos of looking right out into Georgian Bay. It was enjoyed!
Then John and I dinned at what is a National Favorite place to consume food and beverage in Canada. That would be "Tim Hortons". I do enjoy there chili. Which makes for a very nice and filling lunch. Real good Canadian comfort food.
Then we set out to view two of the scenic waterfalls located in the Owen Sound area. The first was "Weaver's Creek Falls". It was a short walk to see this pristine little waterfall. Then we plans to hike to find "Inglis Falls". We set out determined to find the falls. However without a map and proper directions to follow. We turned around after walking for about 1 1/2 miles. So we did get in some good exercise. After returning to the car. I used my forever reliable GPS to direct us by car. Right to Inglis Falls. We had to pay $4 for parking. However it was well worth it. To enjoy Inglis Falls and the beautiful natural surroundings.
Then for me a major enjoyment. A chance to visit and swim in another of the "Great Lakes". Lake Huron and Sauble Beach were only a 1/2 hour drive from Inglis Falls.
We parked the car close by the beach. John stayed in the car and read a book. While I got to enjoy some time in the warm water and the steady waves of Lake Huron. The water was clear and shallow. The Unofficial Last Day of Summer. Was enjoyed very much!
Also the drive home to Brampton went well. No gridlock on highway 10. Compared to the other major routes leading back from the scenic northern areas of Ontario.
