Washington Wizards
Last night for entertainment purposes. I went to see an NBA game at the Horizon Center. The state of the art sports facility located in downtown Washington D.C. It is the home to the NBA Wizards, and the NHL Capitals.
The arena is only a 15 minute walk from the HI Hostel here in D.C. I purchased the cheapest ticket which was $10. The Verizon Center is nice. The game was a one sided slaughter! The Wizards opponents on this evening where the Spurs from the city of San Antonio, Texas.
It was a very one sided contest all the way. The scores were 37 to 18 after the first quarter. And 72 to 45 after the first half. The final score of 118 to 94 was very misleading. As the San Antonio coach removed all of his best players for the second half of this game. Or the final score would have been a total embarrassment. If the regulars would of stayed in the game. I'm sure that San Antonio would have reached the 200 point threshold.
Very disappointing that a major league team would not show up to play any kind of decent game. For a full house of fans that showed up and paid good money to watch them perform.
Also a big disappointment was the concessions sold at the Verizon Center. Very high prices for completely junk food! For example $4.50 for a so called Kosher Hot Dog. The Wizard management should be ashamed for charging $4.50 for a so called Kosher Hot Dog. I want to meet the Rabi who certified that hot dog as being Kosher. They also have the gall to charge $5 for a bag of popcorn, $4 for a .5 cent bottle of water, $4 for a pretzel, and $5.50 for .25 glass of soda pop. I could go on and on.
The bottom line is. How can sports fans support a team and the management of a team? That has no respect at all. For there paying customers. This boggles my mind.
I have included few pictures from last nights game.

Too bad you didn't get to see a caps game DW!
ReplyDeleteI checked the NBA records. The most one sided victory in NBA history was the night of March 16th 2008. The Denver Nuggets trounced the Seattle Super Sonics 168 to 116.
ReplyDeleteIt is too bad the San Antonio coach did not leave his regulars in for the 2ND half. They would of broke the record for sure!!!
Too bad the Harlem Globetrotters weren't there!
ReplyDeleteThe Wizards coach should of put there cheerleaders in for the second half. The girls would of put in better effort!
