The first first day of my Europe adventure incuded tours of the remains of a coal mine in the Limburg region of The Netherlands. Where the coal mining industry once flurished. They had a very good museum set up. TO show the hhistory on how the mine worked. Also the daily life of the miner's working in the coal mine.
Then we went to vist a second museum in a place called Valkenburg. Where they have a recreation of a coal mine set up. For people to see what it was like to work underground in a coal mine. It was tough and dirty work. However it was hard on the Limburg region of The Netherlands when the coal mines were closed by the Dutch governemnt in the early 1970's.
A good friend of Peter's Frans. Also was with us on the day trip.
A very nice dinner in a very nice restaurant was the final part of this day.
