Vatican City Post

I have arrived at the smallest country in the world on this day. That would be Vatican City located within the city of Rome. The smallest country in the world only has 111 acres of land, and is the home of the Catholic Church. Where the Pope has his residence. The Pope has the duties of being Catholic leader, and also the CEO of the smallest nation on earth. The State of Vatican City was formed on 11 February 1929, when the Lateran Treaty between the Holy See and the Kingdom of Italy was signed by Prime Minister and Head of Government Benito Mussolini on behalf of King Victor Emmanuel III and byCardinal Secretary of State Pietro Gasparri for Pope Pius XI.[ The treaty, which became effective on 7 June 1929, established the independent state of Vatican City and reaffirmed the special status of Catholicism in Italy.

Vatican City has always operated it own Postal service. I did drop by to mail one letter today. The post office in Vatican City still does a very good business in our mostly digital and push button society. Because of the tourists that mail post cards and letters. The citizens of Rome prefer to use Vatican City Post over the Italian Postal Service. Also many people located around the world. Continue to mail letters to the current Pope Frances. Who have no access to modern technology.

I have included a picture of the second Vatican Post retail post office located in St. Peter's Square. Plus the third location within the Vatican Museums.
The 3rd retail post office is located in Vatican Museum.
