The Mouth of Truth

This morning The Travel Wolfe got very well acquainted with one of the most famous attractions located in the "Eternal City" of Rome. That is "The Mouth of Truth" which can be found in the church of "Santa Maria in Cosmedin". The Mouth as I can simply refer to him as because we are friends now. Is also a historic relic from the classic Roman Times. The Mouth of Truth is believed to have been part of an ancient Roman fountain or possibly just a manhole cover. Depicting a pagan god which most Romans believe is "Bocca" god of the Tiber River. The Legend of "The Mouth of Truth is. If you put your hand in his Mouth and you are an untruthful person. Then he will bit your hand off. Whatever the case may be the Mouth has lots of charisma, and did a classic scene in the 1953 movie "Roman Holiday" with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. So The Mouth of Truth is also a movie star! The Mouth is now the second famous movie star that I have had the pleasure to meet!
